The big headline last week was the appearance of strongly worded article in The Business Times/ Bloomberg focus on the vacancy rate and the price decrease expected next year.
While this is nothing new for agents on the ground ā we have been seeing units stagnating on the market for months. This is the first time it āhitā the news. This will hopefully give a bit of a reality checks to landlords ā some of which are still not accepting that the peak prices are behind us.
Sale market is also slow still suffering from high prices and high interest rates. One highlight is the sub-sales market activity being high (a seller who bought new development on plan and selling it before completion) ā this is a combination of taking a profit (as market has gone up significantly) and cutting risk exposure to high interest rates payments. These sub-sales purchases are also attractive for owners who want to move in a brand-new unit without the waiting time of construction.
